The Number 1 Album in Music Belongs to Christian Rapper, NF
  • Christian Rapper, NF has topped the charts with his latest album, The Search. With his fourth full-length album release, he’s steadily climbed the charts to take the top spot.
  • NF really got music fans interested when his song “Let You Down” from his third album Perception went triple platinum in the United States in 2017.
  • NF doesn’t consider himself a Christian Rapper although he does claim to be a Christian. He doesn’t just make music for Christians. He makes music for everyone.
  • He raps about things he is actually dealing with in real life. He says he doesn’t have to be a Christian to relate.

Proving that Christian music has wide appeal, Christian Rapper NF now holds the top spot in the music industry hitting #1 on the Billboard 200 chart this week.

NF, whose real name is Nathan Feuerstein, upstaged fellow hip-hop star Chance The Rapper to take the number one album spot with the release of his latest album, The Search. NF is a 28-year-old Michigan native who was is signed to Capitol Records’ Christian label, Capitol CMG.

Second #1 Album Debut for the Christian Rapper

NF’s album The Search is his second release to not only reach the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart but also debut in the top position.

His previous album Perception also debuted at number one in 2017. NF’s third single from that album, “Let You Down,” was certified triple platinum in the United States, as well as charting internationally.

From his latest album, NF already has two singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including the title track “The Search” and “Time.”

“I’m a Christian,” But Not a “Christian” Artist

Even though NF was first assigned to Capitol Christian Music Group in 2014, and videos of his songs show up in YouTube Christian music, he doesn’t like being tagged with the label of “Christian” artist.

“I mean, I’m a Christian, but I’m just an artist,” NF told a music blog in 2016. “To me, it’s like if you’re a Christian and you’re a plumber, are you a Christian plumber?”

“I don’t make music for Christians,” NF clarified, “I make music for everyone.”

NF has been compared to his main influence Eminem but without the explicit lyrics. Of his lyrics and Christian themes, NF says he doesn’t make Christian music nor does he present a Christian point of view.

“You’re not going to reach everyone with just one point of view. I write about things I’m actually dealing with. You don’t have to be Christian to relate to them.”
