The world is complicated, often throwing us curveballs that we wish it wouldn’t. When life becomes overwhelming, many of us turn to religion for comfort. Finding meaning in faith is more common than ever in the modern era, not in spite of, but because of humanity’s scientific progress. We’ve learned so much about the world around us, and it all points to the glory and grace of God Himself.
If you find yourself wandering and looking for meaning, you might be comforted to know that Jesus Christ accepts any and all people who would walk with Him. And you might be even happier to learn that all you need to do to become a follower of Jesus and to be accepted into His kingdom is to accept him into your heart as your Lord and Savior.
Believe it or not, it’s really that simple. You don’t need to memorize Bible verses or undertake deeds of generosity. While those things are wonderful, they’re not required. The only thing required to be a follower of Jesus is to accept him as your Lord and Savior. Once you’ve accepted Jesus into your heart, you’re a Christian. You’re part of his Kingdom and your immortal soul is forever secure.
Some people feel like this sounds too simple. How can you get forgiveness for all of your sins and gain admittance to the Kingdom of Heaven just by accepting Jesus into your heart? Well, it’s truly by the Grace of God.
The most well-known aspect of Christianity is Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. The Bible tells us about Jesus’ persecution by the Romans, and his execution by the crucifix. Jesus, the Son of God, suffered and died for the sins of all mankind. While man is born in sin, we can secure forgiveness through God’s grace, thanks to Jesus’ sacrifice.
The most prevailing lesson in the Bible is that God is forgiving, full of love and understanding for all of His children. No matter what you may have done, the ways you may have strayed from the path of righteousness, there is always forgiveness to be found in the eyes of God.
Importantly, you’re never alone once you accept Jesus into your heart. You face all of life’s struggles and confusions with Him at your side, and when the burden is too great, He will help you carry on. It’s the simplest thing you can do, and it’s also the most important.
