God Will Always be Undefeated

God Will Always be Undefeated

“There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD.” – Proverbs 21:30 (NIV)

Although this verse may often be viewed as a threat against those who oppose God—and it most certainly is—it can be a comfort as well. To be able to rest in the Lord’s will while going through trials is reassuring. To know that no scheme of Satan will prevail against our Lord brings peace. Nothing can thwart the plans of God!

Alternate translations

“No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the LORD.”(ESV)

“There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.”(KJV)

“There is no wisdom, neither intelligence, nor mind, like that of Lord Jehovah.”(Aramaic Bible in plain English)

Meaning of the verse

Sometimes even believers will follow their own wisdom instead of God. They purposely do something, fully knowing it is against God’s word and laws, yet, believe they will succeed in their plans.

But for the believer and unbeliever alike, ultimately, no plan that goes against the will of God will succeed. Sooner or later, there will be a price to pay. The payment due may not come until the Day of Judgment and the price will be eternal damnation.

This verse also sends a message to Satan. The devil also believes that he is equal and as wise as God. But he, too, will also see his plan come to failure, as the Bible foretells, Satan will meet with ultimate doom.
