“Therefore God gave them over in the desires of their hearts to impurity for the dishonoring of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is forever worthy of praise! Amen.” – Romans 1:24-25
The world is pushing hard against traditional sexuality and gender identification. God’s original design for mankind as male and female is being challenged more and more each day. Greek philosopher Protagoras’ statement, “Man is the measure of all things” has truly taken center stage. But God sees it differently. Man is the pinnacle of all creation, yet still subject to its creator. Defend the sacredness of male and female but do so with grace and mercy.
Today’s verse is speaking about truth. The Bible calls the multi-gender form of sexuality we see being openly embraced and practiced in society today as a form of idolatry. God views these as immoral and unnatural crimes.
“Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images of mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.” – Romans 1:22-23
Looking at today’s Bible quote from Romans 1:22-25, we see a picture where mankind had forsaken God’s creation and the need for God. As a result, God decided to allow them to suffer the consequences of their vile and abominable deeds.
This is just the world we live in today. People worship material things and their own bodies. They trust in their own wisdom. They have redefined male and female to conjure up a multitude of genders. They are teaching the next generation of children that these ideas are normal, acceptable and without fault. These Bible verses are prophetic.
Today’s verse is very relevant to what we see in our own society today. Our liberal-minded schools and leaders are indoctrinating the next generation of children with ideas apart from creation disguising it as scientific fact.
Rather than male and female that we see biologically in nearly all living species on the planet, our secular society now purports somewhere between 58 and 60-something genders. The male or female reproductive organs one possesses at birth no longer mean anything.
This thinking draws a distinction between your “sex” at birth, meaning whether you are born with male or female genitalia, insisting that gender is a completely different entity.
ABC News recently did a study on Facebook. While the social media giant won’t release a comprehensive list of the gender choices it provides, ABC News identified 58 choices that Facebook users could select as their gender.
Actress and singer Bella Thorne, 21, is known for the films Shake It Up (2010), The Duff (2015), Blended (2014), and Midnight Sun (2018). She recently revealed during a Good Morning America (GMA) interview that she identifies as pansexual. She had come out as bisexual on Twitter in 2016.
“I’m actually pansexual, and I didn’t know that,” Thorne said in the GMA interview. “Somebody explained to me really thoroughly what that is.”
By Thorne’s definition, she favors someone’s personality more than their body. “You like beings,” Thorne said. “You like what you like. Doesn’t have to be a girl or a guy or a he or she or they or this or that. It’s literally you like personality. You just like a being.”
“For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.” – Romans 1:26-27
Pansexuality, which can also be described as omni-sexuality, refers to the sexual, romantic or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their birth sex or gender identity.
Pansexuals assert that assigned sex or gender identity are not determining factors in their sexual or romantic attraction to other individuals. Pansexuals may refer to themselves as being gender-blind. Pansexuals are open to relationships with people who do not identify strictly as male or female.
Pansexual may be considered a branch of bisexuality, but it is a sexual orientation in its own right, as pansexuals are open to all relationships and more inclusive than bisexual.
According to a recent report from the J. Walter Thompson Innovation Group, only 48% of Generation Z identify exclusively as heterosexual. A forthcoming study to be published by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) says its own research concurs with these findings.
